Privacy configurations
Piano Analytics offers a range of configurable functionalities to comply with various legislation concerning the privacy of Internet users.
Data retention
The data retention period for Piano Analytics data is set when the contract and the data processing agreement are signed.
The default retention period is 25 months and applies uniformly to an entire organization.
If you wish to reduce this period, please contact the Piano support center, which will deal with your request.
If you wish to increase this period, please contact your usual account manager. This operation is subject to invoicing.
IP address anonymization
Piano Analytics allows you to anonymize IP addresses before processing them to provide audience measurement data.
If you wish to set up IP address anonymization, please contact the Piano support center, which will handle your request.
Note: once activated, this anonymization applies to an entire organization.
IP exclusions are based exclusively on IP ranges. The same applies to robot detection, which will be based exclusively on a truncated IP. As a result, you run the risk of suppressing real traffic. You also may potentially lose geolocation accuracy (at city level only).
"Contains personal data" flag
Each of the user interactions you measure with Piano Analytics can be qualified using properties.
You can quickly manage hundreds of properties, some of which contain personal information that requires special attention.
To help you ensure good data governance, we provide ""Contains personal data" flag", which simply indicate which properties require particular vigilance from a Privacy point of view when they are used.
Note: these personal data indicators are essential to the proper functioning of the "Extended opt-out" consent management mode.
Consent exemption
Setting up consent exemption requires special configuration and implementation: see the specific case of consent exemption.
