All you need to know about Active/Inactive elements

In order to ease the use of Data Query, we now display only properties and metrics with traffic by default. This way, you don't need to know if the item is used on your selected scope anymore, because if it is proposed it means it already had data!

How does it work?

To identifyif a property is active, we look on each selected site if we have already received an event with the valued property. If it is the case then it will appear in the active elements, otherwise it will be considered as Inactive.

For the metrics, we will look at their calculation and in particular the properties included in the calculation. If at least one property present in the calculation is active then the metric will be in the active category, otherwise it will be considered as Inactive.

I just created my properties in order to start the tagging, they don't have traffic, where can I find them?

Don't panic, when a property has just been created, it is considered active for 7 days regardless of whether it already has traffic or not.

How to find the inactive properties?

In some cases, you want to find inactive properties. For example if you declared the properties several weeks ago and you are just starting to implement them. So, just click on the option button and select the inactive items.

What does the message "No traffic yet on the selected perimeter. "

When you see this message, it means that the site has not yet been measured, so all properties are considered inactive.

I just started the tagging, why do I still view this message?

We test if a property is active every night, so if the tagging has just been done the property will be active the next day, in the meantime, you will have to display inactive properties as explained above.
