How do I share a segment with other users?

There are several ways to share a segment created in Piano Analytics.

From the Library

Segments saved in your Library can be shared directly with other users or teams. Go to the Library, find your segment under "My ressources," click the three-dot menu, and select "Share." From the sharing dialog, you have two options:

• Make it public: Toggle the "Public" switch to make the segment accessible to all users in your organization. This is the simplest approach when the segment is relevant to a wide audience.

• Share with specific people: Search for a user or team by name, select them, choose their permission level (e.g. Reader or Editor), and click "Share." This is ideal when only certain colleagues need access to the segment.

Shared segments will appear in the recipient's "Shared with me" tab in the Library.

By sharing a Data Query project

If you prefer not to share the segment itself, you can save a Data Query project with the segment applied and share the project URL. Opening this URL will recreate the full project, including the segment and its configuration. This method is useful for sharing a specific analysis context rather than the segment alone.
