What happens if my SFTP or S3 server is unavailable when a Data Flow export is scheduled?

Data Flow's delivery system includes automatic retries. If your SFTP or S3 server is temporarily unavailable when an export is scheduled, the system will keep retrying at increasing intervals over a period of approximately two days.

This means that short downtimes typically don't require any action on your part — most planned maintenance windows on the client side are covered by the automatic retry behavior.

If your server is down for longer than the retry window, two options are available:

  • Manual re-trigger — Within 15 days of the original delivery date, the file is still stored, and the Support Team can manually re-trigger the export delivery for you.

  • Data regeneration — Beyond the 15-day window, the data is no longer available and needs to be regenerated. Regeneration is a chargeable option when the issue originates on the client side (e.g., extended maintenance, server downtime).
