How to update my email address?

Your Piano Analytics login is your email address. If your email address changes — for example, because your domain is rebranded, you marry, or your job title changes the format used by your IT department — your account can be updated to the new address.

How to request a change

Updating the email address cannot be done by yourself, you need to contact Piano Support and provide them with your current email and the new one.

What gets carried over

The following are tied to the user account and remain unaffected when only the login email is updated:

  • Access rights, role assignments, and team memberships

  • Personal boards, saved analyses, and other resources you created

  • API keys associated with the account

  • Exports: Data Query, Data Flow and Boards exports are based on the user ID. Changing the email address will have no impact, the exports will still be sent.

  • Watcher alerts are now linked to the user ID rather than the user's email address. As a result, changing a user's email address has no impact on the Explorer alerts.

For Boards export, if the recipient isn’t a user of the organization, a change of email address performed on his side will have an impact on the delivery, and he will have to update it himself.

What you need to update manually

  • Scheduled dashboard exports. Exports send results to the email address that was active when the schedule was created. After your address changes, you may stop receiving exports until you edit each schedule to point at the new address, or recreate the schedule under the new login.

SSO users

If your organization uses Single Sign-On (SSO), your Piano Analytics email is synchronized with the email you use at your Identity Provider (IdP). When your IdP email changes, the Piano Analytics login follows automatically on your next login. You do not need to request the change in Piano Analytics itself — but you should still review scheduled exports and integrations listed above.
