Why does my own site appear as a Referrer site?

When you add a site to your organization, we recommend you declare all related URLs/domains.

Those URLs are important, as it prevent them from appearing as “Referrer sites”.

All the URLs that are part of the same domain as the one declared for you level 1 site will instead be considered Direct traffic > Continuation of visit.

URLs belonging to other sites of your organization will be considered as Portal sites.

At last, all other URLs will be classified as Referrer sites.

If the URL for your site is not declared properly, it will be considered its own Referrer site.

To check that all your URLs are properly declared, go to the Tools section of the Data Collection Portal.
