Connector principles

To get started, simply create an API key from your Piano Analytics account, and connect to Klipfolio. As Klipfolio is a SAAS application, there's no need to install anything on your machine. Klipfolio works remotely, reading information without necessarily downloading it.

Prerequisites :

• Have a Klipfolio account.

• Have a Piano Analytics account.

• Generate an API Key from your Piano Analytics profil.

Set up the connector

To generate an API key from your profile, please follow the first steps of our dedicated documentation.
Keep your access/secret key pair, as you'll need it to connect to Klipfolio.

Create a Data Query template

Build your query in Data Query and get the API URL (GET) by clicking on "Open in":

Your URL has now been copied, keep it and continue with the next steps.

Select the data source in Klipfolio

Klipfolio offers a wide range of options for connecting all your data sources.

To connect your Piano Analytics data, select the REST/URL connector.

Importing data from the Piano Analytics API into Klipfolio

Once the REST/URL source has been selected, you can configure the data import.

1. Paste the URL copied from Data Query into the Query URL section of your Klipfolio interface.

2. Unfold the "Authentication" banner and select Basic HTTP authentication.

3. Then enter your API key :
   - Username : corresponds to the access key
   - Password : corresponds to the secret key

Then confirm. A preview appears, allowing you to check that the data linked to your URL is correct:

Klipfolio will read the fields in your database and make them available. This data can be used as attributes (analysis axes) and measures (quantitative data).

Klipfolio lets you create Klips from this data. Klips are customizable tiles or widgets containing one or more statistical data. These tiles are used to build Dashboards in Klipfolio.

Now all you have to do is build your own custom dashboards!
